Bloom & Beauty

Our Story

Built quietly. Run carefully.

Founded by Amelia Fox in 2020 because Exeter needed a beauty studio that wasn't selling something at every chair.

Amelia worked her way up through London skin clinics for nine years before she came home to Exeter to do it differently.

The clinics she trained in had targets. So many products to upsell per facial, so many follow-up bookings per shift. She got sharper at all of it — and grew quietly tired of every appointment ending with a £40 serum the client didn't actually need.

Bloom & Beauty opened on Catherine Street in 2020, six weeks before the first lockdown. The early plan — three treatment rooms, four staff — held for about a month before everything went sideways. What survived the chaos was a smaller, quieter version: one founder, one room, a tight clinical standard, and a pricing list with the prices actually on it.

Six years on, the studio has five therapists and four treatment rooms. The principles haven't changed: bespoke over protocol, honesty over upsell, patch tests we mean, and aftercare written down so clients aren't trying to remember it on the bus home.

We're a small studio that turns down 10–15 appointments a week we can't do well. We'd rather book you in next Tuesday than rush through you tomorrow.

What We Stand For

Three principles, this order.

  • 01

    Considered

Every treatment plan starts with a conversation about you, not a script we follow.

  • 02

    Honest

We'll tell you if a treatment isn't right for you, even if you came in asking for it.

  • 03

    Unrushed

We book longer slots than the industry standard. The treatment finishes when it's done.
